Fun facts about New Zealand

Activity 1

My favorite fun facts about NZ were:
1 The Auckland City Sky Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere at 328 meters high.

2. New Zealanders love cars with 2.5 million cars for 4 million people making them one of the countries to have the highest car ownership rate in the world.

3 The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.

  2. Hi Aliqwa,

It’s Leslie here, writing to you from Canada where it’s very cold and snowy. Hard for you to imagine, I’m sure! I’m a member of the Summer Learning Journey team and I notice that you've completed one of the activities - super!

I hope you'll choose to do some more of the activities in the program - there's so much to learn about the unusual and unique plants and animals that live in New Zealand. And you can write about your favourite foods, why you like your home, and your favourite activities. There's lots of choice!!

There are still 3 full weeks left to participate in the Summer Learning Journey. I hope you’ll take a look and try more of the activities and share them with your classmates. They can read your blog too - a fun way to connect over the summer! I’ll look for your postings and write back to you from Canada.

Meanwhile, have a really happy summer holiday.

    Leslie

  3. Hello Aliqwa, well done on your Summer Learning Journey start. I really enjoyed this activity because I was able to find out more things myself. I liked reading your facts because they also interested me. Why were those three your favourite out of the ones you read? Keep it up!
