Maori

Today LS1 had our second to last session of maori with miss whea odie .

we learned how to write and say numbers . we had 4 column and in each column there would be a number and we had to say all the numbers .


Kiwi Can - Fun Day - T4W9 - 2019

LI - To play a game that we have played in the previous weeks.

today ls1 had our last session of kiwi can . we played 5 different games some chose by Mr C Manu and some choosen by LS1 .we played hot potato and how we played was we got into a circle sang a song and whoever ended up with "hot potato out you go " would be out . then we played musical cones and the aime to this game was to grab the cone before our partner would . after that we played bitty bitty bop , we got into circles then Mr C Manu would point at us and say "bitty Bitty Bop" but we had to say bop before he would . We played do this do that when it was basically just a game of simon says .

Fractions

What is a fraction?

A fraction is a whole object divided into equal pieces.The simplest fraction is halves.Halves is when an object is divided into two equal pieces. Each piece is called "one half". To create fractions we folded origami paper into fractions. Here are some examples.

Kiwi sport - T4W8 - 2019

LI - To learn how to play singles.

This week for kiwi sport we have been learning about how to play singles.The rules of the game is that if you hit the ball in the net thats a out but if the ball goes over the net then that means the ball made it to serve.If your the server and you serve it but it goes out of the square then your out and you have to swop over and go to the back of the line then wait for your next turn. How to play first you need to get into groups and line up behind a red spot on the grass and on the other side that is the champions side it will be set up into three groups along with three nets.In the end of the game if you become a champion then you have to play the finals.The finals is when the champions v.s each other and the final winner is around the world.

This week for our maori we have been learning about how to read the time in maori and also how to put the right month and day in order or line it up with each other.This is us reading the time and figuring it out And the two other pieces of at the bottom are the maori and english words for the months and days.

Kiwi Sport - double tennis - T4W7 - 2019

LI - To learn how to play double tennis.

This week for kiwi sport we learnt how to play doubles tennis. Double tennis is when two players play agents another two players. Both players on each team should have turns at hitting the ball. The person closer tom the ball should hit the ball. We practiced by playing doubles.

Kiwi Can - T4W7 - 2019

LI - To respect others for there differences.


This week for kiwi can we have been learning about how everyone has their own beliefs, ideas & customs.We had to hold our tongues witch basically means ( think about what you should say before saying anything). We learnt about cultures, religions & customs.For our activity this week it was called spot the difference so how this was played was we had to find a partner and once you have got a partner you need to number yourself up to 1-2 and so as your partner then number one would have to turn back-word for number two so that number two can do something different for number one to try figure out what the difference is.After that, we played our energizer witch was master tag and mr simano would choose a tagger and the tagger would have to tag people and whoever got tagged wasn't aloud to tag back so they would have to tag someone different.

This week for kiwi can we have been learning about using patience all the time and never
for getting it.This week our topic is named patience but we haven't named our theme yet.Our activity we had played was called down road ands our energizer was named cone  run.

This week in kiwi sport we have been learning about how to use full serve with our forehand.A full serve is hitting the ball first, to your partners side. For the tennis activity we had to serve to each other diagonally Witch makes it challenging.

Writing - T4W5 - 2019

LI - To add speech to a narrative.

For writing this week we have been learning about how to add a speech to a narrative.For how to make a narrative speech you need to remember four things top do for it.First you need to remember is to use your speech marks.The next thing is to remember to write what someone is saying. What we have to do for the third thing to remember of what to do is that you need to use the word that discribes about what someone said.Like for an example yelled or say plus said those are some words you can use plus more.The forth thing is the punctuation marks if someone is shouting, or laughing at something.

LI - To learn about how you can play tennis.

For kiwi sport this week we have been learning how to play tennis.For what we did for our tennis game is that we got split into groups and my side of the group was Bella.H and David plus me but we had to verse the other group on the other side of the hall because we were playing inside.My partner was ayden he is kind of a good player he's good at serving and Im not but his throwing is not very good.Bella.H was the best in the group and so was her partner Taua.We learnt how to use our over arm for tennis this week and it was a little bit hard for people to keep the ball in control because we doing it diagonal and not straight so it made it challenging and difficult for us to use the racket with the it was more easy when we were throwing  the tennis ball.

writing - T4W3 - 2019

LI - To learn how to make a story more intresting.

For writing this week we had to write about the storythree little pigs.
We had to make it a good story for our work and make sure that all our sentences make sence so people can understand what we are talking about.
In the three little pigs there are five acters first the three little pigs mother then the three little pigs and last of all the big bad wolf.
Out of all of the there are four good people and one bad person.The bad person is the wolf and rest of the people are the good people.
That is mainly what the story is about the rest of you can read witch is in the story i wrote witch is the same.

This week for Cyber Smart we are writing about images that are the legal ones for people to use and the images that are the illegal ones for people to use.

For maori this week we have been finding out the meanings of the maori sentences and by doing

LI - To learn the basic grip on a tennis Racket.

This tearm for kiwi sport we are learning how to play tennis.For our warm up one person dropped the the tennis ball and the other person had to try to catch it.This warmed up our reaetoins.
For our activity we were learning the forehand and backhand technique.Forehand one hand at the bottem of the racket.This is our clominate hard.
Backhand two hands of the racket dominate hand stays on the bottem other had hold above the bottem hand.

This week for kiwi can we did three games to start with our first game we done is called versus.What we have to do for this game is that we have to  pick a side of what you like better and you need to tell every one the reason of why like for an example like if the kiwi can teacher ask you a question like witch food is better noodles or vege soup you need to pick one side of the room. then the next  thing that we did was that we got told to split into two groups one group had to  answer Ms Mac's riddles some of them were hard but within the other's they were a lot more easy.After doing our activity's we talked about our theme witch is respeact.

Whakapakahatia is a maori activity that we did for maori this week.

Reading - T3W10 - 2019



LI - To apply inquiry, literacy, numeracy to learn about the RWC.

This activity was about six players that we had to find facts about. The rugby players that we found facts about are named Sonny Bill Williams, Wilson Whineray, Daniel Carter, Jonah Lomu, Brodie Retallick and Richie McCaw. We also had to find their number as well.

Maths - world time - T3W10 - 2019



LI - To apply inquiry, literacy, numeracy to learn about the RWC.


For maths this week we had to to tell the different time zones in different countries that includes our country.
In small countries we just had to say the time of what time it is going to be in there countries on Nov 2.In big countries like America and Canada we have to tell the time in the east coast and the west coast.

Kiwi Sport - Swimming - T3W10 - 2019



LI - To learn special water safety skills.

This activity is about me learning new and special water safety skills for our swimming this week.
In this activity we did new and special things for our water safety swimming skills and the first activity we did was called the Chain.
We had to hold the person that is at the front of you they are the people that you have to hold their shoulders and for the next activity we done was a game that is named Huggle.
Huggle is a activity that has to use six people in the group to do the Huggle for doing the Huggle you need to put your legs thin the middle of the circle then push agents each other and separate from the circle.
What we have learnt this week is to swim with life jackets so that we don't drown drawing our swimming session.
Our Water safety teachers that we had are named Livvy and Amanda that were helping us so that we can learn some new and special water safety skills as swimming for the last week of swimming and of learning new and special water safety skills.

Rube Goldburg simple machines - T3W10 - 2019






LI: To make a working Rube Goldberg machine with the 6 simple machines.

There are 6 simple machines. They are: Pulley, Screw, Inclined Plane, Wedge, Wheel and Axle and a Lever. We needed to use these 6 simple machines to create our own Rube Goldberg machines to complete one of three scenarios. The three scenarios we had to choose from I were: Tipping dice out of a cup, putting a ball into a cup and turning on a netbook. We needed to try to make a successful working Rube Goldberg machine using as many of the simple machines as we could. Rube Goldberg created machines to complete tasks in simple ways. The task we had to complete was trying to turn on a chrome-book and the materials we used were four wooden shapes, one meter ruler,toy car,  yoyo, container, string, and a cup..the simple machines we used were the pulley, lever, inclined plane, and a wheel and axle.   


Reflection 
Some of the challenges we faced were trying corporate as a group and share ideas because everyone had different ideas and it was hard to keep up with all the different ideas.  Why do you think this failed ? I think our simple machine failed because we didn't have put everything in the right place. Something we could change or did differently to make it work was to use the right materials.

Kiwi Sport - T3W9 2019

LI - To learn how to use water safety.


This week for kiwi sport we have been learning how to swim with our water safety teacher our water safety teacher was lyvie for her group we have been doing streamline kicking.
Well doing streamline kicking we had to remember to keep our leg straight and long in the the water well holding our breath at the same time.For our next session we were doing rotation and for rotation we have to keep our arms straight while flouting on our backs.Last of all we were doing diving for diving you need to remember to straight and long in the air and you have to put your arms in the back of you ears squeezing up against them and well doing that you just let yourself go into the water.

We had to look at three different types of challenges and wrote about our feelings when we face those challenges.

this week for inquiry we have been learning about how a screw work and we also learnt of how to make a screw using a pipe, stick and a bucket of water for to make a screw and if you want to make a screw you can buy one at the shop or if you have the equipment for to make the screw then make it because it is really better than nothing for to do something that is really helpful for your family and also for you as you doing your work or what you want that will always make your family happy so do it and it will help you well doing work or something.

For maths this week we have been learning of how to use the art wall.
The art wall is technically art that we have to do as a colorful peace of art, we had to do over one colour for our art because if we don't it would of been a hole waste of time for all our other work we could have done instead of wasting all that time but it would actually be better than nothing but it would of been better then wasting time but it's worth it than nothing.
this the art that I have done for this week and as you can see my art has more than just one colour my art has two colors and my art may be kind a uncool but it's what I can do and it's better than nothing.

Kiwi Can - T3W7 - 2019

LI - To learn about things that are challenging for you.


For kiwi can this week we have been talking about things that are challenging for you and other people.
For our topic this week we have been learning about resilience and therefore our theme is things that are challenging for you.
For our activity this week we played a game that was called challenging statue.
In the game challenging statue we had to be using our ears and our body to use movement in the game challenging statue.
In challenging statue there are things that the teacher says and we have to do it or you are going to have to be out of the game.
For our energizer we had to get into a group of three the members  in my group were my two best friends anyways  for our energizer we had got given a paper that had shapes and with those shapes we had to make a cross or like a T shape with all those bits or shapes we had on the paper and there were know one that had complete it so the teacher gave us the paper of how to make it and everyone were rousted because we didn't figure it out and lastly we did the point's and we got forty - five point and it was the same as last week but it was better then having zero point or I should say nothing.

For our reading this week we had to do this writing by using  right there, think and search, auther and you and on my own.

We had to write what we think about griffiti but we also had to search things to find out about griffiti then when we have searched of what we have been looking for we had to then we will have to cheack and see if the work made sence.
For what we had to do for synthesis we had to do and use the same things for it but we had to just write it in longer sentences.

LI - To learn about water saftey.(skills)

This week for kiwisport we have been learning about water saftey and getting new skills from it.
for our learning of watersaftey my water saftey group is livvy's group, for my group we have been doing streamline kicking with a board for streamline kicking we hav to make our legs long under the water but we had to be on our back, then when we have done that we started to do rotation.
Rotation is when we have to be swimming on our backs but we have to be straight like a pencil with our arm on the side of us with our arms sitll, first we have done with the board then we had done it with no board I liked it better with no board.

For inquiry this week we have been doing something called the pulley.
If you don't know what a pulley is you can search it up or read the blog to find out more about what a pulley is and what it's made out of therefore a pulley is made out of a type of thick rope and also a small wheel.

LI - To focus more (not get distracted.)

We learned how to not get distraced.
Distraced means to full out of focus many things can distract us like people talking or physical
annoying to each other. To learn about distraction we played a game called Distraction Circle.
In the game called Distraction Circle we were in groups of five there were two groups that had six people in there group.My group had a extra witch was me but we had me inclued.
For what we did we had to have someone to draw on the persons back with thier fingers to the person in the middle and we had to have someone who had to get the person in the middile to copy the actions that the person was doing and for what the other done was that she had to sing a song to make it difficult for the person in the middle so that it's challenging for the person in the middle and lastly the person on the right side had to say a story or make up one in thier heads.
And that is how you play the game Distraction Circle.

Kiwi can - T3W5

LI - To learnt about resilince.


For kiwi can this week we did our activity.
For our activity we got in to groups and when we got into our groups we got geven a papper that had writing on it for what it said on my groups first papper it said learn a catchfraze but do different acttions for it.
For our next level we had to do exasizing first we had to do push ups then we had to do squats after doing squats we had to do sit ups in the hole minute.
Then for our third level we had to do put the moari words and the english words for colour in order but they have to be the right colours.
And for our last level my group were doing the [abc's] backwords starting with the letter [z].

For my emotions i felt were happyness and joyfulness because it was a very challenging activity witch made it the game more fun but hard.

For ssr seflie this week we had to do a photo and we had to put the photo on our work before we have done that we had to read the story for about five or fifteen then we do all the things that it says to do.

LI: To learn about the how to write a proper text.

For cyber smart this week we have been learning about how to write a proper text using these four words compsition, text, colour and layout.
those are the things you have to remember about when ever you are doing something for your work and when you are doing something to help someone do thier work.

Swimming - Kiwi Sport - T3W4.

LI: To learn water safety and water skills.

This week for swimming we did streamline kicking and were floating on our backs with a swimming
board touching our knees and we have to put our arms long and close to one and other then once we have done that we have to just float and relax our body.




Ihumatao - Reading - T3W4.

LI: to learn about the news of Ihumatao.

For reading this week we learnt about Ihumatao first we had to put in the information of what we thought about and we had to put what we read in these boxes. 


The only slides we were doing were up to slide twinty and the numbers that we had to do and get done were seventeen, eghteen, nineteen and twinty.
